iv been looking 4 a nice GT for a long time and with no sucess, instead i got some O's they have been doing fine with the others they are in with, i got them at about a inch they are now about 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 inch, anyway i orderd some baby walking cats and went to pick them up to day BUT ended taking a 6inch GT hame with a 10 - 12 walking cat, put them in the tank,,, let them out of the bag and as soon as the GT seen the O's started ripping chunks out of them:eek: im thinking the only thing to do apart from getting a 2nd tank is to take him back, Bummer.

is there a chance he will calm down?
or will he kill my O's off?

it is only the O's he puts in the firing line all the other fish he lets come and go as they want.

   DAMM *****:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire he has almost finished of my white O:swear: :swear: :swear: , he is in a in-tank hanger and going back, this is a nasty NASTY bit of fish:swear: :swear: :swear: .

Wierd, My 7" GT doesn't do anything like that........ Oscars are rather timid for cichlids, but I think your GT was a dominant fish, and is in a new environment, so he has to re-establish his dominance. Ufortunately your oscars are the only other cichlids in the tank.

I keep my GT with a pike (Crenicichla johanna), 3 angels, 3 severums,3 corydoras, 1 Gibby, and one pseudopim bufonius. It is a rather peaceful tank because they really don't compete for anything. Plus if there is aggro, one takes out on one, then that one takes it out on another right down the chain of command.

Everything I have read and herard about GTs said the live up to their name. Sorry to hear about your oscar, I hope he will be ok. Depends on the GT also. Some can be pretty docile. You got a mean one.

I have only heard of the silver saums being aggresive. I have never heard of so many mean green terrors since I have been to this site.

iv never had a GT like this, he is just like a b**ch of a red devil i had a while back.
still the walking cat was a steel @ £5
not so sure i was getting a good deal on the GT even at the same price as the clarias:irked:

You got to experience the bad side.

I try to warn people that these things COULD happen. But everyone else always goes.
"Well my GT is fine. I've never had a problem"

This is just one of those GT's that does live up to it's name"

Sorry, you could always try another and see if you cant get a more passive one.

:headbang2 My 3.5" GT has been doing ok in a 125 with Tiger O (4") a JD (4") and a Tex (2.5) The Tex is turning black tho...

I believe that I have a female GT, she has been 95% docile, the JD (a Black Male) has nipped her fins lightly, and the Tex (Also Turning Black) has been staying out of their way....

FYI, I have 5 Giant Dainos as my Dithers.

Long story short, just like people all fish are different, but some people suck :irked: , just like some Alpha Bastage Male GT's.

 I wonder what is going to happen with the Texas Turing colors so early.......Too early for Mating??
