Is the standard ag 40 breeder tank tempered, or can I drill holes for bulkheads in the sids or bottom.

I don't believe they are, check the below link to Aqueon's site (All Glass) that provide info on what tanks have tempered bottoms, etc.

All glass said all of their tanks are made with plate glass, unless you specify something different.
