I am looking into buying a new 125 and my LFS is having a sale on their All Glass tanks. They have the "magaflow" overflow set-up. I was wondering what people's experiences with these overflows are. Also, since when i looked at them the space within the overflow itself looked pretty limited, will doing a diy durso work? I don't want to spend the money on the plumbing kit that the store is trying to force on me, but if a normal durso wont fit I may just cave in and get them, if the AGA plumbing kit is even any good (quiet).

Also, is there any advantage to these over a standard corner overflow?

Thanks for any info.

The megaflow weirs work excellently. The more water you pass thru them the better they vac the water collumn from bottom, middle and top.

You could build your own standpipes but I use the AGA kit. It is fabbed outta thin wall pvc and if you use good plumbing techniques they can flow more than 600 gph each.

Alright thanks. That's what i wanted to hear. I think they look good and i was just hoping they worked as good as they looked.

i just jumped on that all glass/aqueon sale.. i got the 125 also to replace my 125..... when i ordered it i thought it was the twin flow ( corner over flows ) but when it came in it was the mega flows.( dual almost centerish) they are nice and you can buy the overflow kits cheap on ebay...like 30 bucks rather then 60 ea. also if you buy their tank the sale is only for the tank.no tops/lights .all in all i paid 360 for the tank alone. plus 2xover flow kit at 60 ea and the glass tops another 60. and this means no lights......
oh and 25 for the prefilters ( shipping ) thats why so much...

id get the twinflow and not the megaflow. but the sale might be just on the megas... the mega flows on the 125 took up a lot of tank space.. cant fit my drift wood pieces (lg) just my 2 cents

i still havent setup the tank yet...all in all not to shabby for the price for a new plumbed tank.... im happy!!:headbang2
