O.K. i have 2 questions 1 will convicts jump out of there tank and 2 where can i sell convicts to to make some $. iv started my business of breeding fish but i dont know where to sell them to
:WTF:

LOL!!! convicts dont generally jump out although its possible, maybe try to get a contract with an LFS or something, idk or sell them from your door.. maybe idk LOL!!!

Breed convicts for profit? Good luck.

Sorry, that just sounded funny. I don't have a single lfs around here that will buy the 'rabbits of the cichlid world'.

Second question...there's always a possibility a fish will jump out of the tank if it's not covered. I've lost a couple of really nice fish over the years by accidently leaving the lid open and had a GT jump thru the small space at the back where the hob goes.

Most LFS won't take cons because they breed so prolifically. Supply and demand. Huge supply, average demand=not much money.

O.K. then what other fish can get me some $

You should really research things before you decide to make a "business out of fish breeding". There's a pretty old saying in breeding fish.. it's something along the lines of "You're lucky to break even" or something.

As for your questions. Inverts (plenty of Shrimp sell for $25/e around here, the high quality ones atleast) will bring you in some dough. I don't really think you have proper knowledge to handle some of the harder species though, with all due respect. If you don't know about Convicts not being able to be sold, or what livebearers are (a question from your other thread on this subject), I can't imagine you being able to spawn worthwhile species in a high enough quantity to make a dime.

Whatever is expensive now will yield expensive babies. Zebra plecos, crystal red shrimp, rays, certain dwarf cichlids, etc, are all extremely profitable, but incredibly expensive. You'll be lucky to break even.

look, if your wanting to make a business out of it. setup up huge concrete ponds and breed koi. to make any real money from cichlids, you need a butt load of tanks and it would take years to make back the money that you would have to spend on equipment. the people that do this for a living use very large outdoor ponds (acres) where they breed thousands of fish. something like this

but if you are just doing it for fun then breed what you want. start with the easy stuff like cons and move up from there. just dont plan on quiting your day job.
