At what age do FH generally reach their full potential? Mine is less than 1 year old and is about 8" long and 5" tall. As he developed from the one inch man I purchased him as I witnessed his kok develop and his overall body shape become much more robust. His colors changed but not necessarily for the best or the worst. I know he will continue to grow larger but can I expect his proportions to improve any further at this point or has he reached his full potential at less than a year? I realize he is a low grade FH but he was only $5 and I have enjoyed raising him and learned much from the experience.

Forgot to mention one thing I noticed most was the flowers changing pattern from solid blacks to looking more like Chinese characters. Can anyone read Chinese? The flower on his head looks awfully suspicious.

Any one have any idea about this? I just want to know how old a FH will be when it looks it's best ie- kok size, color, body shape.
I would also like to see pics of really impressive FH from fry size to full grown to help people know what to look for when buying FH very young.

low grade ?
well all i can tell u man thats a really nice FH !!
i wish i could read chinese :)

Yeah I think most people would consider this on the high end of low grade. There are some crazy Fh's out there and I don't this one can begin to compete. Aside from that anyone have an idea about the question? Thanks for the compliment though I will pass that along to him.

That fish, like all fish will continue to develope throughout his life and the longer he lives the bigger his Kok will get and the longer his trailers will get to a point. He looks like he still has a few inches length and height to go IMO and should improve with age. Nice fish for $5.00 and looks well taken care of. Add some high protien foods 55% or better to his diet to help develope the fatty deposite that is the Kok.

I like that answer, thank you. Lets me know that there is room for improvement and encourages me to continue to take the utmost in care for him.
I believe that is my favorite thing about fish. The older they get the better they look practically to the point when they die. I wish we were like that.
