From experience what do you guys think are the least aggressive or on the lower end of the sunfish aggression spectrum in terms of species of sunfish?

I find that Orangespot sunfish do rather well and are not all that agressive, by far the least agressive I've owned.

My experience is that its not the Green Sunfish.....I tried Bluegills and longears and he killed them all.

I have some Bluespotted sunfish right now, and they are pretty peaceable - with each other and with other species of fish.

And note to above - pygmy sunfishes are a completely different genus (Elassoma). Blackbanded, banded and bluespotted sunfish are all a smaller genus (Enneacanthus) than typical sunfish (Lepomis).

Warmouth are pretty laid back in my experience. I haven't kept bantams or orangespots, but they are also supposed to be less aggressive than most Lepomis. Males of any sunfish species are usually more aggressive than females. There's a lot of individual variation, too. My largest red-spotted sunfish (not usually thought of as an aggressive species) dominates the greens, longears, and rock bass in my community tank.
