just wondering if spotted gars are known to be aggresive or calm. right now it seems calm but then i really dont know cuz its only been in my tank for 6 hours.

I had a spotted gar kill a smaller piranha, but I think it just thought it could eat it.
They are not aggressive as such, but they will snap at something if they think there's even a chance they can eat it, so make sure tankmates are not too small.
They are not the kind of fish that will attack something for fun though, so you don't have to worry about that. They are calm with similar sized fish.
Btw Tong - I read in your signature that a 3/4 inch ATF killed all your fish? WTF? That's weird, they are not supposed to be aggressive unless something is food sized too

no not 3/4 inch atf a 3inch - 4 inch atf killed my leichartii and BGK this week, but anyways its gone now, and thanks for the help.i wouldve chopped the head off of my atf if it killed my spotted gar too
If your sig is correct its prbably going to eat your barbs and bala sharks. They are very peaceful and are good with tankmates but will eat any smaller fish!
