I know that mature male rays can be hard on females during breeding, but I'm wondering whether male rays also bite the disks of other males. Does this vary in the absence of females (i.e., can a group of male rays be housed peacefully together or will there ultimately be aggression issues)? Does adding a female to the mix create aggression in a group of otherwise peaceful males?
I'm most interested in info regarding P. hystrix, but am curious to know about people's experiences with other rays as well.
Also, I'm mostly interested in replies from people with experience with mature males of breeding age. I already know from personal experience that younger male rays can be housed together without any aggression problems.
