aggression problem: satanoperca leucosticta

i recently bought a second one and the old one is terrorizing the new one will this pas or are they not meant to live in the same tanks, there both male i belive
 
ok thanks now would a different spices of work like Acarichthys heckelii or a different type of satanoperca work or no matter what i need to get at least 4 or it wont work ??

No matter what, you will get the aggression your describing keeping only two indeviduals (sex doesn't really matter) because these are social fish that need a group setting in order to maintain a pecking order. The pecking order of two is one will get harrassed non-stop.
 
Like the others have said you need a group. Just recent I sold off a group of gymnos leaving two lone male G. tiraparae. In a weekend the subdominant male got his butt handed to him. Keep in mind prior to the removal of the other group of fish everyone was living in realize harmony! Good luck!!!
 
yo angelo! you got a geophagus surinamensis not a satanoperca. dont know if that contributes but just saying cause the satanoperca were in the tank bellow the one you got I thought?
