not where I'm supposed to be
Has anyone every studied what makes fish become aggressive??? Searched but found nothing of real telling.

Asking because my 150 became a war zone tonight. 1st my male Cincta went after my Female Festae then the Black Belt and all 3 of my Texas/Festae got into lip locks :nilly:
The wolf just runs anyone away from his spot and the ATP is trying to avoid it all... My bigger TF is now protecting the Festae from the Cincta.

I did my usual wc yesterday and all was calm til about an hr ago. No live food in weeks, just the usual NLS pellets, frozen foods and fresh shrimp. Lights are off now and everyone seems to be calm, hopefully.

Best statement I read was...
Who is to know when a fish will go ballistic, and kill all its tank mates, forcing its owner to isolate it? The potential for randomness keeps me interested and gives each one of my fish a unique personality.

A lot of factors can trigger agression in fish, depending on species. Age, breeding condition, temperature changes, hunger, increase in acidity, decrease in acidity, and even seasonal changes like increased diurnal periods. The last is especially true with fish like adult male sunfish.

Territory and sexual appetite. Most aggressive fish are territorial. Think about it.
Try rearranging your tank and see what happens. I'd be willing to bet things calm down at least for a little while.

so i called ur fish and one of them said it started off as a yo mama joke. supposidly one fish told the other fish yo mama so smelly, her punani smells like human.

and that set off the riot.

JK. i hope your fish do well.
