I thought i read somewhere that the color did not determine the meaness but one was more likely to be more aggressive than the other ............... I'm referring to red devils and midas. I think the darker color ones displayed more aggression than the lighter ones or it ccould have been the other way around.
Anyone got any feedback or expierenced anything on this subject?

It varies by personality of the individual fish, though I do remember hearing I believe that the colored red devils are, on average, more aggressive than barred. I could be wrong and I also don't recall the source so I can't say how credible that information is.

Where have you seen barred labiatus? You don't see those around (except young ones that eventually change).

With all my time in the hobby I've never seen a barred devil. Barred midas (citrinellus) yes, but never a barred labiatus.

I've noticed the darker the fish the lower it is on the peaking order. A sub-dominant male will show different a coloration then the dominant male (females are the same way). As far as aggression differences between the barred form and the colored forum of midas (citrinellus) I've never noticed enough of a difference to make a note of it. Both varients can be very aggressive or they can be passive, it depends more on the fish then the varient. Just my opinion.
