do you think it is okay to add a 6 inch pike to my community of 4 rd (3 - 5 inches), one jd (5 inch male), one 12 inch lima, and two 4 inch silver dollars? they are in a divided 125 right now.

i also have another male jd (5 inches). do you think i could put it in the tank with the other fish?

what would be the best way to calm down the aggression between the two jds? the one in the 125 already killed one 4 inch jd. i am planning on adding some tinfoil barbs taht i am growing.

Don't add the pike. You have too many cichlds for a 125g now and will eventually have to remove a few. I definitely wouldn't add any more. Have you seen a full grown Red Devil? In a 125, you want to only keep a few large CA cichlids and can add some dithers and oddballs.

Edit* or sell a few of the RD's and add the pike.

I have to agree that there are probably too many fish as it is. I have a 90 with only 4 fish (Midavil, Gold Saum, Convict and Dempsey) and I am already looking to get another tank.

Who is currently the lead monster in there right now?

no one messes with the jd. and the pike is supposed to be aggressive, but i have not had him in the community (behind a divider now)

a problem in a scenario like this isn't even just the size of the fish involved, it is that the level of aggression will get to the point where there probably will be serious injuries
