i keep going back and forth with what i want to do with my 125g(72x18x24). i will be putting in my 2 plecos and maybe 2 bichirs. im thinking aggressive SA/CA cichlids. i like quite a few larger fish and im wondering which would work/fit in a 125g. these are a list of what id like to put in, i know not all will fit

green terror
grammodes
Salvini
Carpinte
Mota
jag

id get them all as juveniles, under 3". they'd be in the 125 for a while

a pair of terrors would fit nicely(i love them so i always push for more) you could probably get away with a pair of jags,

Hard to say, obviously it all boils down to each individual fish.

Gold Saum, Salvini, Carpinte would all fit without too much of a problem, and a Mota could possibly go there. Can't say I'm an expert at stocking large cichlids though so wait for some more advice ;)

id rather not do a pair cause id like to keep more that 2 fish :D my severums are breeding in my 55g and make life hell for everyone else so i could hardly imagine an aggressive pair breeding

oh and as for filtrations, ill either do an fx5 or a sump and med/large canister

Green terrors would be nice, so would jags. Hard choice and it's hard to say. I had 3 oscars a red devil and a jag all in a 125. Was a little crowded but I had 4 filters and air stones lining the back wall. All I could do until I got a new tank.

I would say get grammodes! They are fairly aggressive, well mine was anyway. They are slow growers but have wonderful colors when they mature!

male motas are extremely aggressive and can cause some serious damage quick

I second this.

GT, Salvini, Carpinte, and mota. Grammodes are too aggressive IMO to fit in that list. A jag could work, but a Mota is a better fit just because it stays smaller.

carpinte, jag, salvini good varience of colors and maybe mota.
