I decided to start a freshwater tank but im not a fan of the ordinary freshwater fish hence the reason i mainly have saltwater but i want to get into the aggressive freshwater fish. I want to start out with a 55 gallon tank then eventually upgrade. i dont want allot of little fish i want prolly 2 or 3 good size fish that i can enjoy and have a different scene then the 2 salt water tanks i have. so i cam on here to get some idea and here from people who know more about these fish but before i get them i will do my research so i can properly take care of them. thanks for the help. I would like to put in a Delhezi Bichir with the fish i decided to get also. thanks for the help its really appreciated from fish love to fish lover.

:) great, when you say aggressive freshwater fish and you exchanged from saltwater to freshwater um are you going to do some serious fish keeping or just want to try it out, cause a lot of freshwater fish requires a lot of work, some almost as much as starting a saltwater. If u are serious about it gars, and rays are pretty awesome. I love arowanas too but and they are a little easier but still, better safe then sorry. Oh and are you looking for really aggressive fish or aggressive but not too aggressive.

i am eventually going to upgrade to an 120 and i am seriouse about going freshwater and will do all the necessary task for the fish but i am gping to start with a 55 then when these fish get 2 big go to 120 then but some smaller community fish into the 55 gallon

leopard ctenopomas and crocodile fish look nice and are dedicated predators, but I wouldn't call them monster size, you could keep them in the 55 for life. If you can find them young get cichlids, they're colourful and badass. Pike cichlids would fit as predatory cichlids, colourful, mean, and bloodthirsty for food.
