aggressive orinos...

Hmm just wondering...I got a pack of only 4 Orinos and was wondering if one is being the more aggressive one of them all would he/she just trying to take its place in the hierarchy? Or is it just mean? I see no injuring with it ramming the others but i see it flaring the others and they sometimes flare back or just get pushed around like nothing...im not worried or anything just curious...I can identify the same orino doing this...and from my speculations it gets abit darker like all cichlids do when they are being aggressive to others...It gets abit green and its blue fins intensifies just like that. Its mostly like this at night-time around 8:00-11:00 pm. Im watching them go at it right now but its an on and off kind of thing...one thing is it seems to only happen when I have the same floating driftwood in the tank their in...when its out, they or that one particular orino doesn't go at it with each other. And I already know that their one of the most aggressive cichlas out their.

sounds like hes trying to be the alpha male/head of your pack!
One of my cichla does this, he'd swim really fast to one of the other cichla in the tank but he would never make contact, hed sort of just swipe at them if you know what i mean...

I have an alpha that does the same thing. He just charges, I think it's for intimidation purposes.

oh ok...so is it mostly males that does this? Since I only got this one dominating one and this other aggressive one but not as aggro than the top cichla...and the others are just the lower cichlas in the pack

my three tems do this alot.
the biggest guy tries to intimidate them smaller ones and sometimes lip locks with them.
they are mean buggers.
even my barras scared now.

mine looks like a orino now that im thinking i first thought he was a mono but mine has killed one of my other pbass the same size by ramming him into the glass and chaseing him around and really stressing the pbass until eventualy he died ithink mines just really agresive tho but he is skittish around larger fish
