Hey everyone,

Just looking for some ideas and perhaps some advice -

In the near future, I plan on setting up an aggressive salt water tank, most likely focusing on Black Volitans...

My main issue with this is the decor... when doing salt water in the past, I've mostly focused on reef and community tanks with lots of live rock, polyups, bright colors... you get the idea.

I am not sure what I can put in an aggressive tank without it getting destroyed, but still adding different points of interest and having an overall attractive tank.

Will lionfish really disturb a small amount of hardy reefs? I know they do not make for the greatest water quality, but with proper filtration, etc, etc, can it be done???

Any input will be appreciated! Also, if you have an aggressive setup and care to share pics, I would love to see and get some ideas!

Thanks!

Lion fish should not bother your corals. Though do you have a 100 gallon reef or larger? These lions get 15-18 inches long , not including fins. A two foot wide tank is minimum , and a 100 gallon minimum for tank size. Lions will get along with most fish but your biggest risk is multiple lions together. Unless you have one big tank , i think its a dumb idea. Most places say 75 gallons for 1 , then if you mix more than one you need even more room.
