aggressive texas cichlid

my texas cichlid is at 2-3 and he trys to bite me when i put my hand in he tank and sometimes even jumps out the water

Ya they can be a bit aggressive, just be mindfull not timid when your hand is in tank.

I wish my Carpintis were like that lol. They all act like little scaredy cats if you walk up to the tank real fast. They are getting better but by no means are glass bangers at all yet, maybe some day.
