Aggressive zebra obliquidens

My zebra O has killed two of my fish. A peacock and a convict. Both were bigger than him. I woke up on morning and saw my peacocks eye was missing. I thought he was sick.

Then I saw the zebra chasing it and pecking at it. Then two weeks later my convict also was missing its eye and the same zebra was at it again.

I thought these were peaceful fish. This guy is picking my tank off one by one.. I also have a red devil, 3 red festae and two other random fish and they are all peaceful which is wierd. Except for the zebra.

My wife wants me to put him in the monster tank with my dovii and two 12 inch parrots. The little guy ie only 3.5 inches

H. latifasciatus are known to be fin nippers. They are best kept in a large group of their own. Where they still nip each others fins but at least don't kill each other.

I think he will either be eaten or still harass the other fish in the big tank.

Mine were too aggressive for my all male hap and peacock tank, but not killing or even nipping. Rather the more timid males did not color well when he was in there. They have been good with the more boisterous borleyi however.

You're keeping African cichlids with SA/CA cichlids. You already had a problem from the start.
