They are not that aggressive, their aggression is only with other jacks.

though the name jack dempsey is given to them, of the famous prize fighter, they really don't live up to there name in terms of aggresion, i find them placid fish, you can keep them with most small-medium cichlids without worry

cool like in a 55 gallon do you think firemouths would be to big for the jd to eat or would they just get there butts kicked and at what size if ever would the jd become aggressive

if ever aggresive at all, they might just be little nips, so in a 55 you could have the jd, and the firemouths in the tank peacfully

if planted properly you could keep java moss, micro sword, or preet much whatever floats your boat.

wow thats a cool planted tank and xr when you say planted properly do you mean like attached to driftwood or in a pot or something like that?
