I have 5 peacock bass currently all around 3-4" in my 20gallon long tank, its heavily filtered, has 2 oxygen stones, the temps 87* and there some driftwood and a long peice of fake plant that covers about 1/4 the tank. ( its very nice looking ). there also 2 3" datnoids in there.

Sence i'm new to keeping smaller pbass in numbers, is it normal for them to display agression towards one another? they are starting to get very deep in color ( not stress marks ), and will chase eachother around the tank. they used to shoal together and all huddle, but now its as if they all have taken over a part of the tank and if one gets to close theres war. I know with some fish, there will be battles for alpha fish of the tank, was just curious if peacocks do this to?

the little pbass I have kept that started chasing each other around the tank ended up being my healthiest and fastest growing. Sounds like they are healthily establishing a pecking order

sounds good, they all swim right up to the tank full blast when i come over and start pecking at the tank waiting for food to drop in, they all slam kirll and there colors are starting to show up amazingy. the 4 monos in the tank, are starting to get a serious black on their top fins, while the middle of there tail is turning a amazing gold, the bottom of the tail is starting to turn orange. I'll post some pics up later on in the photo lounge, but wana make sure I dont need to seperate my pbass or anything due to the chasing.

I had to seperate my two azuls and orino when they were 2-3". The 3" orino beat the CRAP out of the azuls. The azul I have left at 10" now still has battle scars.

You really need them in a bigger tank. You're going to start losing them soon either due to there not being enough space and hiding places or water quality.

Not that you'd be doing anything wrong with filtration or water changes... It's just too much for a 20g.

its normal and will never change much. one will always be the whiping boy that everyone beats on.. usually the runt of the group
