I have a common pleco around 12" and a chocolate pleco around 8" that are constantly harassing their tank mates (Florida gar especially), peacock bass, etc. They have even "chewed" up the gar quite a bit. What's going on here?! Is this normal behavior?

They are sucking the slime coat off from the gar. I dont own any gar but I have heard of others having problems with mixing the two. I would seperate the plecos from the gar or they could kill it. What do you feed your plecos?

How big is your tank? What are you feeding your plecos? plecos graze consistently....make sure they have something to keep them occupied at night....Yams, peas and Zucchini left overnight (taken out in the morning) , work wonders on keeping my large plecos satisfied.

I had the same issue with my plecoXbetta. I simply upped the amount of food available to them and the issue resolved itself

haha some plecos are very aggressive,i had a gibby that i had to keep alone coz it kept sucking on every fish.
