So I picked up a decent sized red hook SD with a lot of orange blotches out of a assorted silver dollar tank for only 10 dollars!! good deal right he's about 4-5 inches and looks beautiful I planed to keep him with some silver dollars I already had but he's supper agressive he won't stop chasing them and nipping at their fins plus he has teeth and is beginning to take chuncks out of their tails. I only let this happen for about 2 days but now he's by himself. He seems fine with his tank mates a young tiger Oscar who's about 6 inches long and a similar sized pleco however I'm wandering if he would do better with other red hooks or if I can just keep him by himself like he is for now?

Keep by itself for now as mentioned.

Keep him by himself for now.
Cool I've read about people who keep silver dollars by themselves but it always seems frowned upon and I understand why when watching my other silver dollars but this redhook seems to be fine almost like he enjoys the space.

Glads that he is doing good. It is better to keep him by himself than him injuring your other silver dollars.
Yeah I agree I wasn't planning to put him back with my other silvers just figured I'd ask and see if I should get him some other redhooks

Thought maybe if they were his own species and size He'd do better but I'm completely ok with just him for silver dollars in this tank he looks almost like a pacu in this setup. Lol and I'm not really looking to set up a new tank if they don't work out so I'll pass for now maybe if I see a good deal again I will snag one to try with but if it doesn't work id probably just return the newer fish.

Let's see a pic of this badboy

Sorry I only have these pics from the day I got him he's still in the bag his eyes are huge he's the first SD I've had like this!!! Also Not sure why the bag says 15 I'm almost certain I paid $10.
Also I picked up this Vieja cichlid the same day any idea what species he might be? Redhead, blackbelt, window? Any idea? I have a few more photos on my phone if needed just let me know !
