I have a 8" motoro and it has been with some plecos for a few months, sometime today all hell broke loose and one of the plecos chewed on his disc pretty good. There is about 2 square inches of skin that has been chewed off his disc.
I have removed the plecos immediately (they will never go back with him). And put some Melafix into the tank and am raising the temp up a couple degrees (82 ish).
Anything else I should be doing to help him heal fast?
Will do water changes of 25% or so daily until I see some improvement then back to my 50% every 4-5 days.
There is a lot of filteration (only a 90 gallon tank and 2 big eheims and a sponge filter).
PH is around 7.6 and water quite hard.
Any suggestions?
Rich
