I have a 8" motoro and it has been with some plecos for a few months, sometime today all hell broke loose and one of the plecos chewed on his disc pretty good. There is about 2 square inches of skin that has been chewed off his disc.

I have removed the plecos immediately (they will never go back with him). And put some Melafix into the tank and am raising the temp up a couple degrees (82 ish).

Anything else I should be doing to help him heal fast?

Will do water changes of 25% or so daily until I see some improvement then back to my 50% every 4-5 days.

There is a lot of filteration (only a 90 gallon tank and 2 big eheims and a sponge filter).

PH is around 7.6 and water quite hard.

Any suggestions?

Salt is your best friend :)

how much per gallon? and just regular table salt?
Salt that has no iodine! Iodine is killer to a ray and for a 90 gallon pre mix 4 table spoons in warm water in a glass. Use a turkey baster to squirt it near the wound. do this daily with 50 percent daily W/Cs for a week . Plecos and rays can work but is not worth the risk

move all the plecos out....
