I royetting really F#$*ed up last night!!! When i feed my small Chiclas I turn off their filter and remove the air feed from the power heads... Well last night I forgot to plug the filter back in and reopen the air feeds...
So when I woke up this morning my throat wasnt feeling well and instead of risking getting everyone at work sick I called in. I normally leave at 4:30am for work, well before my tank lights turn on. Today I got to see my "Children" ,as my girlfriend likes to call them, when I finally got up.
They were acting very odd... i could see all but one of them and they were all facing the surface with their mouths half above the water... lying in bed I notice the filter isnt on and I jump up and go OH S#!T there is no oxygen!!!
The Orino I couldnt see was in the far corner belly up but still attempting to breath... I quickly turn the filter on reopen the air to the power head and pull out another power head from my main tank and put it in their tank to attempt and get oxygen back in to the tank...
I sat there anxiously waiting and hoping that they would be ok!!! As I watch the Ocells and one of the orinos seemed to start to swim around and things were going better, I caught it just in time, but one of the orinos was still belly up and barely moving... PLEASE PLEASE BE OK!!! About 10 min later the orino uprighting himself, but was still barely swimming
for the next half hour I didnt leave! he finally started moving more and eventually he was swimming with the others.
OMG I WAS SCARED!!!! I havent lost any cichlas yet and I didnt want to start from a stupid mistake.
This is the best thing to happen from calling in sick to work!!!
