AHHHHH everything is going wrong all at once :(

ok so first i get parasites in my small tank from an ebjd and now i see frikin ich on one of my fish in the big tank, AHHHHH only fish i see it on right now is a lower rank female green terror and the last fish i added was over 2 weeks ago (probably more like 3 but i cant remember exactly) but yeah so i have no clue which fish would have added it and i think just this fish got it because she is the third wheel on a still pairing pair that are only slightly bigger than her (so she is stressed), but i want to treat it as naturally as possible so my question is can i add salt to the tank with a bgk in it? i know they are a scaleless fish so how does this salt affect them and if i do have to end up medicating the tank which medication is the best to use with them and should i use half dosage? also so i dont have to post again in separate forum if any of you have bichirs with your knives how will the salt or medecine also affect my 3 sens??? please help quickly as i would like to possibly add the salt tonight if it wont hurt the bgk or bichirs

ahhh come on nobody? im going to go do a wc to see if i can keep the amount of free swimming ich to a minimum but would REALLLLYYYYY like to add the salt after that if it would be ok and in what amount?

oh and its definitely been over 3 weeks since i added the last fish

ok thanks and robmcd thats what i was planning to do i just didnt know if salt was ok for scaleless knives, so do i just follow directions and do 1tblspn/5g or do i do less?

and was trying to do it without medicating but if just salt doesnt work those tank buddy tablets are ok to use reg dosage with bgk?

n how would they have gotten it if the last fish i added was at least 3 weeks ago shouldn't it have showed up before now?

WHOA HOLD IT!!!!!! I dont think that salts are cool with knives so just raise the temp for 2 weeks or so and wait it out....

lol see this is what i was wondering about and i dont have another tank where i could treat him separately, so i did 50% wc normally i would do this over 5-6 days adding back the salt that i removed but with bgk WHAT DO I DO, just raise temp and hope for the best?

would melafix or anything like that help at all??

IME just raising the temp has worked just fine. I have never owned any knifefish so Im not sure how sensitive they are....

oh ok then i guess i will just try to raise the temp and do 50% wc every other day hopefully this will do it AHHHH this just sucks soooooo bad they have all been in the tank for awhile so there is no reason for the ich to have come now and it just HAD to happen at the same time im treating my 20g grow out for frikin parasites ugh

but yeah im new to knives so this is the first time i would have to treat him for anything i just know since they are scaleless they are alot more sensitive when it comes to meds...

I wouldnt even do that many WCs because of the fluctuation in temps. Id just keep it heated and let it kill off the ich. Just let it stew...
