Ahli cichlid

not really that aggressive, got one ( male ) in my 55 peacock/hap tank ( with metriclima long pelvics ) and he does chase, but isnt aggressive.

+1. I got 2 6" in my 75G and they're quite animated but nothing like aggressive.
 
Yeah they can be a pita imo. I replaced mine with some lithobates z rock. They look just as good if not better without all the constant chasing. They will kill male peacocks and try to breed with the peacock female. I don't keep them anymore and prefer the lithobates more anyways.
 
With Ahli, it depends on the fish. I've seen some that were super aggressive and some that were very laid back. It could go either way.

I would agree with that I find its best to keep a single male on his own no females or other males tends to keep it calmer generally. and by the way you Ahli is more then likely a Sciaenochromis Fryeri opposed to a true Ahli they are rather rare in the trade and tend to be a lot more expensive.
 
luckily i have an ahli... but his females passed sadly :( but should get some more females for him ( most likely fryeri females, as they wont be comming from the same place i got the male and his females that passed )
