All I noticed a fleshy/white patch behind my aimara's dorsal fin and I don't know if it's normal or he hurt himself. He's solitary so it would have had to been on decorations or something. Here are a couple pics.

Kind of looks like it scraped on the driftwood.

It's actually been there a bit and looks like it got bigger. I thought it was nothing but now getting worried as it seems to get more noticeable. Can I add aquarium salt and increase temp to 80?

Thinking of removing that piece of driftwood. He loves to hide under it but as he has gotten bigger I see him hurting himself on it.

Can add the salt and bump the temp.

Honestly I've never medicated my fish, I just always increased wc amount and frequency, might add a little salt and up he temp, but they've always healed in there own. My curu at won't put got a scratch on his eye from fighting with the odoe, within a week it had a string likenpiece coming out, did more wc and changed a higher percentage of water, took about a month but he got back to normal. One time when I was iorantni had a foot long mala, bought a larger asian red tail cat, it bit a huge chunk out of his back, more than his dorsal fin in width but not depth, and I thought he wouldn't make it but he healed right back to normal with a little discoloration for a while, however it happened again and he didn't make it. Idk much about medications. kno4te kno4te does however which is why I tag him in stuff I can't help with like this lol. I've only attempted to medicate one fish, and I have the medicine from it still, I believe I bought furan-2(?) and melafix, it was for a jaguar catfish that was being eaten alive. That cat didn't make it even once separated and medicated. I don't feel meds solve everything they may help but slightly, I don't like taking medicine myself, only as a last resort do I do it. I usually get better within one or two days like my wolves :) lol. But let's see what kno4te says.

Don't give me too much moe214 moe214 credit as I still miss a thing here and there.

It doesn't look fungal from the pics that I can tell. It has a fuzzy/cotton wool appearance. Kid if looks like scales missing. Keep the salt and temp up.

How long has it been there? Can u get a closer pic of the area? Is the fish acting normal? Where's ur heater located? Tankmates? Water parameters?

No tank mates, heaters are off to the side and he rarely goes near them. I'll double check water parameters but they're good. I'll try to take better pics but not likely due to lighting. It's actually not fuzzy in appearance but looks like lost scales. As he has grown it seems to have gotten bigger. I thought it was just discoloration of the area but it's hard to tell.
