I was experementing with feeding and tried a Mealworm. It was taken then spat out. They float so I thought I would just grab it from the surface. I distracted him towards the other end of the tank, 6'. I went to grab and saw him coming, I couldn't get my hand out quick enough.

Though you guys might enjoy this.

Nice little gash! My silver aro gets me sometimes and draws blood... thats part of the fun of owning MONSTER fish... lol

im pretty sure piranha aren't anywhere as aggressive as what steve got bit by..:D
 
I've seen an aimara in person and they're very quick at striking their prey. It's so fast that you don't even see it coming. In fact this is the only fish I've seen attacking the rim of a net for territorial purpose. I learned my lesson so I bought a pair of feeder tong. You guys can call me wussy or whatever but I like to keep all ten of my fingers.:D

I got bit by one before but luckiy it was only 3". Even at 3" it still had a vice grip bite force.
