Any suggestions on what this could be? Just noticed it today but sure it’s new. Noticed it while feeding him. There is some white on his scales but it looks he has blood there when he turns. No idea how this happened. Maybe he just hit the lids or filter intakes? Any thoughts? Vid shows the redness.

Looks to be some loose scales. Turned up a bit. See the red but hope it clears up within a few days.
 
Still alone I presume. Any dw? Looks like he bumped something
 
Alone and no drift wood. Only thing in the tank are heaters, ac110 filter intakes and a block of marine pure.
 
I'd just monitor it, add salt at most for now. Keep the water clean ofcourse. It could've been done on the intakes. I must say Hoplias sp in my experience tend to break heaters by bumping them and move dw. So it could've easily just bumped an intake.
