Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN SINGAPORE) and tennis shoes (MADE IN KOREA). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN INDIA ) he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN MEXICO) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN TAIWAN) to the radio (MADE IN INDIA) he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY)! filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer (Made In Malaysia), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL) poured himself a glass of wine (MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in.AMERICA.....

cause all those places mentioned have so many well payed jobs.....

truth is, a lot of the consumer products are made in asia because it is no longer feasible to have it made in the us and keep the cost down. It would at least cost double if it was made locally.

Whats funny is that we are the first people to advocate a global economy
and were also the first one to cry when we get affected.

most of those are manufacturing blue collard jobs.

get an advanced degree education and persue a white collard professional career.

but white collar jobs arent safe Ming ! As an IT person, i could go on and on
on how many IT jobs weve outsourced to asian countries like China, India and the Philippines.

It hurts and for a while i felt betrayed but if you were the CEO of the company, that is the best thing to do. Imagine getting the job done but paying less than half the salary.

a global economy is a crap idea. yea and like redtailfool said, your companies that make your things would rather set up their business from somewhere else for cheap labour, tax breaks and whatever.
