I want to do an all air breathing tank. The tank is a twenty gallon and I was thinking I'd put bettas, gouramis and my two snakefish in it. The snake fish will be moved to a larger tank once necessary. I was just looking for peoples thoughts and suggestions on this.

Bump.

I don't think you generally want to mix bettas and gouramis.

Ropefish are generally at about a foot when they're sold, so I don't think they're alright in a 20.

I think you're going to end up with a fairly boring tank, but if you have a vision of what you want to do, go for it.

you could go with a group of female bettas....they do best in groups larger than 3..^_^ and you can get some very lovely girls...
i dont know what snake fish are so no impute there, but it sounds like it would be an interesting tank

I wanted like 3 female bettas and a couple gouamis. Or I might just go with a group of paradise fish.

..i just got a paradise fish!
i wouldn't recommend a group in a 20 gallon unless it was so thickly planted they almost never seen each other...now they are aggressive towards anything that might be another paradise fish

if you go with anything i would suggest the female bettas ..20 gallon you could do about 5.. i wouldn't really recommend the gouramis with them, or much else.

(heres the new paradise fish)

Comb tails are aggressive but other species can be quite docile. I think I'm going to ty bettas and gouramis. If things don't work out I'll move my bettas to there own little tanks.
