i have a 140 gal fish tank. and i use a power head for airbubbles for more oxygen. i only have a 8 inch JD and a 3 inch RTC. does my tank require more oxygen or can i turn off my power head. its quiet noisy. and i have 2 over flow filters that sit in the back of the tank

If you have surface agitation from the filters, then you will have enough oxygen and you can turn your power head off.

it should be good enough with the waterfall filters and the airpump

i have surface agitation, but more when the water level is lower of course. and i don't turn on any air pumps squared man, just the extra source of oxygen comes from my power head.

I would get a air pump before you turn off that powerhead. When the water level is full in the tank there is going to be little to no oxygen being pumped into the water from the HOB filters.

I disagree. You don't have to see bubbles in the water for there to be enough oxygen for your fish. The agitation from your HOBs, even when the water is not low, will supply sufficient O2.

:iagree: every little current or ripple is adding oxygen to the tank. every little slightest disturbance
