Hey guys, setting up my 125g sump for my 210 and half the sump will be a fluidized bed filter. I obviously need a pretty big air pump to power the bed filter and have 2 disc in the tank. This will be my first time buying something other than the small generic air pumps. Anyone have any suggestions to what pump i should go with? Noise isn't a HUGE concern but i don't want something thats going to shake the whole house. Im also not looking to break the bank as iv spent a stupid amount of money getting this tank ready.

Thanks in advanced
George

The pondmaster AP series pond air pumps are really good. For one setup you probably only need the AP-40. We used the AP-100 in the store and I couldn't believe how much air that thing could supply. Not 'quiet', but certainly better than others of that size I have heard.

The only complaint I have heard of the pond master pumps is that they need to be rebuilt nearly every year. Heard the Alita are great long last pumps that need rebuilding around every 3 years?

Just wanted some experienced advice on these pumps as im new to
Big air pumps

I bought the AP100 for my 600s moving bed and its a beast. Will admit the boiling in my moving bed is the loudest thing on my tank. But nothing I cant deal with.

The Alita costs to rebuild as the whole Pondmaster pump to purchase.

Shop around, I found my AP100 on Amazon for $130. Of course if you go smaller model you get better price.

I ended up going with the ap 100. Found one of ebay for $125 free shipping. Ended up going with the biggest model so I could run multiple tanks as well as the 210
