Does anyone know a good fairly inexpensive air pump for a fishroom? It needs to run 12 to 20 fish tanks. Only a few tanks are large, some are around 20-30gal and the rest would be 10gal or smaller.

I am using an Alita AL-15A linear air pump for my six 30G tanks. I use the Poret foam as a corner Mattenfilter with 3/4" uplift tubes. I have air to spare, so I bleed some off. I have found this air pump to be extremely quiet and am very pleased with it so far.

There appears to be so many variables when choosing which air pump to use. Depth of tank, whether or not an airstone is used, # of tanks, distance from pump, supply header size, etc.

Hope this helps,
Dee

What about a small air compressor with the ability to turn down the working pressure. Run PVC around, hooked up to the compressor. Then just have a small line attach to the PVC for each tank with a valve to further adjust the pressure per each tank.

depending on size of the compressor it will only kick on every once in awhile to refill. And with a lower working pressure the pressure from the compressor will stay steady.
