I received 2 cubic feet (15 gallons) of k1 two days ago. And figure out that my air pump is too weak to move the k1 around. Can someone please tell me which airpump should be good for my k1? Brand, litter-per-minute, price, ect
Thank you.20160416_213132.jpg

Why not use some power heads instead? I would think they would be much quieter. I see people use air a lot though so maybe someone will chime in if a power head is a bad idea.

Because we need air for good bacteria grow. Good bacteria eat fish poop.

Oh, I didn't realize that you need that much air for that. I thought they just grew with the dissolved oxygen that is in the water.

I use a pondmaster ap100 that powers 1 55g drum with 50 litres or 1.75cuft and a 33 gallon garbage can with the same amount. Boils it well, I wouldn't hesitate to double the amount of k1 or run another barrel. DB junkie DB junkie has had difficulties with his at 100, I haven't other than a blown diaphragm which was easy to fix.

Pondmasters are decent for the money but I'm not going to expect mnore then 3 years out of one. Aside from the non existant piss poor customer service the things need rebuilt every year or they just magically quit on you (diaphragms fail).

Won Brothers offer a 80 LPM pump that only uses 35 watts. Going to be tough to beat that efficiency and they are only like $150-160.

Should be $175 - free shipping. Keep in mind, this pump is going to be cheaper then anything else -it's ONLY 35 watts, even the Pondmasters are around 100, Even the more expensive Alitas require way more power to run.
