Hello out there fellow fish heads. I am trying to cut down on the amount of equipment i am running on a few of my tanks. Have any of you guys used one of these air pumps before. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3669+14684&pcatid=14684. I am wanting to use this pump the larger one for a 65 and two 55's if possible. Please check it out and let me know what you think. If not if you have any other recomadations for one that will work for all three of those tanks that would be great. As allways thanks guys in advance.

umm that one pump is good enough to pump air to all of ur fish tanks just get a tube spliter

Thanks for the replys guys. What do you mean by a tube spliter? it comes with the peice to make it for four lines. It that some thing else dont think i have ever heard the term tube splitter. I allways just runs solo pumps on my tanks so not real familar with the term. Thanks for the heads up thow on if this is big enough for the tanks much appreciated guys.

Yep, spliter, gang valves, manifold... etc. They are all different terms for the same thing. Most of the manifolds (my preferred terminology) I have used leak more air than they pass.

Multi-outlet pumps usually have a separate bellow (Diaphragm) for each outlet making balancing easier than one big pump with a manifold. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&qscrl=1&gbv=2&q=%224+outlet%22+aquarium+air+pump&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=1813275306636770598&sa=X&ei=oJqVT5XrKuLhiALug-jzDw&ved=0CJsBEPMCMAE

(I haven't used any of these so I can not make a recommendation)

I would make sure to use a check valve (one way air valve) on each run to each tank to prevent back siphons from forming.

What are you driving with the air pump? Filters? Bubble wands? Ornaments?

Thanks for the reply. all i am wanting to use it for is simply air for all three tanks. Running nothing except bubble disk one large one for each tank.
