Few months ago i bought 25lt of k1 media to set up in a seperate chamber in my sump for my 230g. Just wanting to know what size air pump would i need to move the k1 around nicely.

Would a tetra whisper 300 be adequate enough to move the k1 around. Its the biggest size i can get at any local pet store close by.

Also wondering the same thing. I have about 60-70 L of k1 that is being moved with some cheap wavemakers right now and they are failing. Did you end up figuring out how much air flow you needed ?

The rule of thumb regarding air flow required for k1 media is "1 litre per minute of air to 1 litre per k1 media". Apparently less air is needed once the media has fully cycled. However I have a 12 litre per minute air pump (10 watt power) moving 20/25 litres if k1 media in one of the chmabers in my sump no worries at all, in fact im going to add more k1 once it has cycled a bit longer. It's been going strong now for 2 weeks!
