Ok, this may be an odd dumb question but never tried it before. So as of yesterday i have never used an Air-pump except one hose to an sponge filter. So for filtration for two 5.5 gallon tank i got a 20 gallon rated air pump, so i could use the same pump with a T-valve to use sponge filters for both tanks. for some reason everything is hooked up and only one filter works. I can pinch the working one and then the other pump works. I am confused since these are extremely small sponge filters, so i figured a 20 could pump both. Ok my setup is just the hose from the pump, then connect to the T, then 2 more hoses running to each tank. I am using NO check valves or anything. Is that the problem. I know this may sound dumb, but as stated never really messed with aire hose riggin before. any help?

The air would pass through the path of least resistance, so if one of the hoses is longer, or one of the sponge filter is more clogged, or at a lower position, the entire air flow will be through the other. Use a clamp to make it more difficult for the air to flow through the other path, so that air flow will be spread throughout the two paths.

what kind of clamp, not sound super stupid, plus these are new and same position on tank, but it is working on the one closest to to the pump, so that makes 100% since

Go to walmart and buy an adjuster knob that you can throw inline with the pump that is working. Turn the knob to restrict airflow, then air should flow from both.

What part of NC are you located? I have about 5 of these things just laying around
