air pump

Hey all, I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to some parts of fish keeping and this is one of them. I'm not entirely sure how to tell ups and downs of different air pumps for tanks. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to an article or share some knowledge with me about them. With that said some good brands for air pumps would also be nice

All the small size ones are not much different.your tank is what size?

Well I defenatly would not get a Tetra Whisper pump... I bought a big one and the output tip broke in less then a month. Bad design, they are exposed and easy to break. I am thinking of getting a fluval one next.

If I was you I would get a pump rated for a 100 gallon tank and have 2 large (4") air stones, suction cups are great for holding them in place so the fish don't push them infront of your filter intakes. lol

thanks for the advice. I just have a small top fin right now rated for a 20 gal tank. Was looking into a bigger one since I might slightly overstock my mbuna tank
