Air pumps in BW/SW tanks

I haven't noticed any brackish or saltwater tanks with airstones in them...Is there a specific reason?

The higher SG makes the bubbles alot slower through the the water and small bubbles especially can be blown around by the currents in the water making your tank look crappy.

but those who use strong skimmers shouldn't be worrying much about gas levels either.

It looks unnatural and the gas air exchange usually happens in the skimmer .
