+1... if the bubbles are sore for your eyes just place them on your side pannel or even take them out.... i had this issue and that's how i got it sorted... not only the background is clear also my O's just love them...

Surface agitation with returns from filters or powerheads will give great gas exchange and NO SPRAy

Def has pros and cons. If you're not keeping live plants and don't mind wiping off the glass tops every week keep it. In your situation is about aesthetics at this point.

Umm is ur intake siphoning bubbles from the wand?? Looks like it to me, this will kill ur impeller maganent over time and lesson ur flow plus makes noises.

Just looked like it to me. And u can never run enough bubbles, ive heard of peoples fish dying from lack of oxygen and they added bubbles at the end but too late.

It stirs up the water plus helps feed BB o2 and the fish like it!

Unless you seal your tank it is HIGHLY unlikely you will not have enough gas exchange, unless you are way overstocked - but other problems will probably cause problems first. This is especially true when using most filters. As they return the water they create enough surface agitation. Usually tanks run out of oxygen because of completely unrelated reasons.

I will agree that it definitely is a plus to run the bubble wands. It helps to stir the water and in all my tanks the fish seem to enjoy interacting with the bubbles. In my first tank I actually named one of my fish "Bubbles" because he would ride the bubbles up to the top of the tank and then swim down to ride them again constantly. It was quite hilarious and fun to watch. Probably helped that he was a fancy goldfish and looked pretty odd to start with.

agreed not life or death but i always like to throw some in my tank. Creates uprising of bottom water as well

Alot of fish love these esp my shaol of rbp, bubbles coupled with a circulator is my fav cuz the p's just get blasted with air and water and they even take turns and go in order, its amazing, i also think that bubbles in some cases can prevent certain water problems that are associated with poor water quality.

All i know is it works great for me and my setup.

Just dont put them near ur intake
