I was wondering what water temp. would be if the air temp was 90 degrees. I'm think of putting a tank outside in indirect light this spring. I'm afraid they might get fried so thats why I'm asking.

mabye 80-90degrees.

I have an attached carport on my house and this summer I'm gonna enclose it. It has a concrete floor and will be my fish room when I'm done. It will have central heat and air when it is finished. I was just gonna go ahead and put the tanks out there this spring while I'm building it.

i dont think putting a tank where it will be exposed to sawdust, sheetrock dust etc.. is a good idea. construction is a very messy thing with lots of crap floating around in the air.

Yeah thats true. A quick question to pond owners, how hot does the water get compared to the air.

Tank temp will allways try and meet up with the air temp. There is some lag because it takes a while for the tank to warm up and cool down. That depends on tank size, surface area, evaporation etc.

If you insulate the tank with some polystyrene sheets then it will change temp slower and stay closer to the average daily air temp. So if if varies 70-90 a well insulated tank should stay around 80

Cheers
