Hey, does anyone know how much a small (non working/scrap) jet engine would cost? There is a massive airplane scrapyard 40 miles north of LA i was thinking of going to, but I dont even know if they sell to the public. And how would I go about mounting it to the roof of a car?
Im totally serious too.
Thanks for any help

Find out the name of the place and call them?

Thats the weird thing. I for some reason cant find a name, or a phone number for this place. Just a ton of pictures.

if you really want some help mounting it ill help you out just pm me. as far as getting it good luck. the airfield your talking about is probably the graveyard of the skies. home to alot of movies alot of retired military planes commercial planes etc. the biggest problem you will have is to find a jet propelled engine that small only way to get something like that that would feasibly work on a car would be a small like news chopper retro fitted. but its doable like i said pm me.

I think i reall an episode of myth busters TRYING to do something simialr.. but they were banned by the FFA because it was illegal to install a jet propulsion engine onto a car without a proper license and acceptable regulations by engineers..

U can try.. but it cost more just to run the jet engine than using good old gasoline.. if u want to save on gas.. get a diesel engine car...

This all sounds like a terrible, life-threatening, accident just waiting to happen.

It does. But im not actually having it work. Just mounting it so it looks like it would work.
