So i may be picking up fish that is being transfered from airport to airport. ive been told that this is pretty much the cheapest and safest way to transport shipped fish for me. But i am unfamiliar of what to do and where to go... I live in NJ and go to Newark Liberty Airport. i know every airport is different but can anyone give me some pointers and instructions? lol im quite new at this.

It seems like more trouble than it is worth. I used to do this before Fedex and UPS grew to what they are today. Door to door delivery, overnight, I have never lost a fish. Unless you are buying multiple boxes (4+) of fish save yourself the hassle of driving to the airport.

The shipper will give you a airbill#, you need your ID and the airbill# to claim your package. I use delta cargo and you need to book at least 3 days in advance so you have your flight info ahead of time. Just show up when the flight lands go to the designated carrier counter and pick them up.

The lack of stress (for fish and me) of having fish spend 6 hours in a bag, instead of 24 + is very appealing, especially for large and sensitive fish.
I don't know about NJ, but here in Milwaukee, the drive to SW air cargo, relatively similar cost, and ease of pickup is worth it.

unfortunately no :/ she is the one im replacing. but decided to go marbled instead of regular. Found her curled up in the corner with another ray about a month ago.. dont know what happened. water was fine. only one i have left is the other female marbled i have...

It is not an issue at all.. the fish spend the least time in the bag. Newark is easy and southwest is the best.

Jay hit the nail on the head. SW EWR is a breeze. Boxes are typically ready to go an hour after the flight lands. Just be weary of delays and whatnot, as cargo closes at midnight I believe.

MIKE! well im still waiting on the guy to ship... he says he can ship it within the month but im still waiting. if he doesnt ship by the 30th i'll be looking elsewhere with scott.. but either way... i want to replace my rays... i gave up on canister filters. i simply use them as Secondarys now and currently build the sumps like you told me. i have 55 gallon sumps on all 3 of my tanks and a fx6 on each of them as a secondary. WITH sponge filters... for my ray tanks.. i dont know how but i lost my rays 2x the same way. I do a water change and then they curl and die. i check the water, everything is fine until the nitrate... which gets to around 20.. which hasnt happened before. both times happened in the summer which pisses me off about my town's water supply. i made a post about this recently where i lost a bunch of my stock because there was something wrong with my town water and spiked my tanks. i now always use double the amount of seachem safe to make sure...
