I just put sand in my tank and i had an airston in there to but it just blows the sand around. it was not buried or anything either. Is there any way i can have an airstone or something in the tank to aerate it without having the sand go everywhere?

yeah....dont bury it...or get a less powerful air pump. You can also put an air regulator valve in the hose...thats probly the cheapest option.
so I tried a less powerful pump and the valve but neither worked. Would it be worth it to try an ornament with a stone in it?
they make an airstone type thing that looks like a straw and comes with suction cups so that you can stick on your rear glass above the sand
Be creative man.....put it under some rocks....behind some wood...or like others have said, turn the bubbles down! I have sand and two bubble discs buried. If I have them on full blast they will come uncovered....so I just turn them down a bit with the valves!
