But yeah, I have the AKs pretty covered though I still could use a few more examples.

For close in dirty work (primary home defense) is the Saiga 12(pictured to the right), a 12ga semi auto AK. Yes it doesnt look like an AK now but it is and will be in correct pistol grip formation soon. I have one 13rd, one 10rd, and one 5rd mag for this.

For in the middle I have one Romanian "G" AKM-47 wearing Russian Repro laminate, :drool: Also is her underfolding Polish sister the PMKMS-47. They each have about 10 30rd mags.

For really throwing down the lead I have a Romanian RPK-47(pictured in the back) and two Romanian 75rd drums and two 40rd mags.

If I need to reach out and touch some thing I pull out the Romanian PSL (far left ). This big dog of the AK world is chambered with the hard hitting 7.62x54r rd. Though not really a true sniper rifle, she fills out the designated marksmen role just fine, easily engaging human sized targets at 800m, with the right loads and right person squeezing the trigger, 1000m is not too hard. She is outfitted with a Russian 8x Illuminated Range Finding scope.

My primary go to rifle is the Bulgarian AKS-74 (all black rifle on the bottom). I have about 20 mags for her and outfitted with her Russian PK-ASv red dot, she is "measure of bad guy" accurate out to 500 meters and the 5.45 rd can be pretty nasty.

Yes they are nice. They have some big downfalls, my primary beef is their slow mag changes, but in all reality they get the job done.

If my job depends on my rifle Id grab an AR, my life, grab an AK.

Besides I only have about $3k invested in those six rifles and 40+ mags, you could MAYBE get two decent ARs and mags for that!
 
Your collection reminds me of a purchase I'm still kicking myself for missing. Norinco 56s pre-ban SIDE-FOLDER! In the box, it looked like it had never been fired. I had it at $500 at an auction last summer, the bidding was stalled out, but after WAY too much begging from the auctioneer he managed to get the bid above my limit ($800). I'll never see that deal again... IF you can find a sidefolding 84s pre-ban plan to pay 2500-3000. Especially, in these times.

I love those red bakelite Chinese side folders, was it one of those?

Pre-ban Chinese stuff is pretty high. I did see a decent deal for a fixed stock Norinco in 5.56 at a local fun shop for 8 or 900, not bad and I need a nice AK in 5.56 too. Im broke though. :(

I did not modify the mags, what modification are you speaking of?

Those big mags jam like crazy, 5 of my 7 do. From what I've read it's very common, and can actually put a small notch in the side of the bullet (by not feeding correctly) causing it not to fly true. I've been told the edges need to be bent or filed, I'm not sure, I just use the two of my mags that feed correctly. When mine jams the tip of the round being fed strikes the rim of the chamber and jams the gun wide open. The fix is to pull the bold back and pry on the round with my finger until it comes lose, then drop the bolt. It's so annoying.

Oh, and I corrected my early post, it was a 56s.
 
Love the collection. I'm dying to get a true svd, but the price and availability make them out of my reach...:(
