Al Pacino vs Robert De Niro

So I wanna know guys and gals, in your opinion, who is the better actor.

For me it's Al Pacino.
Films like Insomnia, Any Given Sunday, Serpico.
And that's without even mentioning Scarface.
He also seems to have more versatility as an actor.

Rob de Niro is great but never seems to go mad, get lost and really own the role inside and out.

When u chose, tell us a couple of films that stood out for you and what you liked about the performances.

Hard to say because they tend to play themselves in every movie, deffinately not character actors. De Niro seems to be caught in the "wise guy" role whereas Pacino does play a cop, albeit in different parts of america. Man, that is a toughy, I'm gonna need a little more time...
 
i dont even think i can choose. they are both EPIC actors in their own rights. some of the greatest of all time IMO

I also agree despite the fact that they spent so little time together in their scenes.
 
They are both awesome actors, I think its unfair to compare them the way the OP said. De Niro has a specific type of role and so does Pacino, the reason it seems Pacino gets more into his characters, is because he almost always plays a role of somebody with a temper. De Niro always plays a guy with a cool, like said before a wiseguy, both are amazing though.
 
I've never been a bog fan of either. They've both become parodies of themselves but De Niro definitely has more memorable roles in my mind. Taxi Driver!
