Hello all,
Forgive my ignorance but from everything I've been reading I'm guessing my little guy has worms or some other infection...it appears everyone else quarantines and treats with salt with a lot of water changes...besides that should I be treating with any other chemicals? Melafix? It seems like it progressed to the stage its at extremely quickly but he still pretty much acts normal as far as eating habits, etc. Any advice is welcome. Thank you! (I know the quarantine tank is small but I don't have anything bigger )

can you post a close up picture of the lesion? when did it start? how is the fish doing? water parameters? Is it just one? Was he always alone?

Sorry, that's the closest picture I have right now. I think it started a couple weeks ago now. He seems to be acting normal still... I'm sure he doesn't like how small the quarantine tank is though. I don't have exact water parameters but I went to a fish store down the street last Sunday and they said my water is good. He was in a tank with 3 other cichlids, a pictus catfish, and a delhezi...they all seemed to get along fine...never really saw any of them picking on each other. Thanks for any input.
