Are albino bichirs anymore sensitive to light than regular bichirs? I bought an albino bichir on saturday and I don't want to hurt his eyes or anything. With my normal sen I keep the light on usually 4 or so hours a day.

Also I've noticed some white in its feces. Could this be a sign of internal parasites? This morning I tried feeding it some Jungle Anti-parasite medicated fish food, that I had laying around. This food floats, so I'm having a bit of trouble sinking it. He ate one piece, that I was able to sink, but didn't seem overly interested. Is there a better med for bichirs that is readily available? The bichir is in a Q tank.

I believe that an albino in any species is naturally more sensitive to strong lights, as for your question regarding white excrement, I'm not entirely sure, however I think there are liquid medications which can be used to treat parasites. Sorry if I didn't help much.

Thanks, thats what I kind of thought aboult albino animals. I have just never seen anyone talk about it on an animal forum before.

Anybody?

I was able to get the pellets to sink by squeezing them while they were under water. I gave them for three days in a row like the instructions said(you do this for 4 weeks). The bichir seemed to eat them with some dificulty. After each time I found uneaten food on the bottom. I don't know if he/she is pukeing them up or what.

I'll watch the bichir, but it seems to eat little pieces of shrimp and little pieces of carnivore pellets fine
