got two albino bichirs... they are about 4 inches.... my tank is 3ft*1.5ft... i have only those two fishes ryt now... my tank luks kinda empty... are there any fish that i culd add to my tank?? and what is the best food to feed my bichirs? the store told me to feed chicken, a small piece each...

Feed them a quality sinking pellet as their main food, I use Hikari sinking carnivore pellets. You can ask for a sample from their website. You can supplement it with shrimp (live ghost shrimp or thawed market shrimp), blood worms, earth worms, and scraps of fish (tilapia, catfish, etc.). It's best to avoid "land" animal meat; it isn't what they naturally eat and is hard on them.

IMO when they are small you can feed beefheart, bloodworms, shrimp pellets, tilapia, catfish, as well as other things. I found that if you feed them beefheart when they are small almost as a co-staple until they are like 4-5" they grow fast. I had a sen that was .75" and he grew from that to 5" in 2-3 months on a diet of bloodworms and beefheart. Once they get larger though you want to try and stay away from the beefheart or at the most feed it as a treat once every week or less. Also if you do decide to feed pellets be careful and make sure they aren't to big, try and cut them up cause they can choke on pellets that are to big. GL with your new little guys :)

you can feed beefheart just not as a staple. A lot of people do it when the polys are young to beef them up, then when they get larger either stop feeding it to them or feed it as a treat, lol you can feed it just not as a staple others wise if you feed as a staple (everyday/ every feeding) minerals etc..., that they can't digest will build up, but you can feed it just not as a staple

terrestrial meaty foods are terrible for fish. Fish cannot digest them properly. try fish fillets, seafood, and sinking pellets.
